A special co-sponsored concert! (This concert takes place in the Nordstrom Recital Hall, at Benroya, in downtown Seattle. It is sponsored by and organized by Childsplay, with co-sponsorship by SFS.)
Fiddling supergroup Childsplay, with Irish singer Karan Casey, is a who’s who of fiddlers from the United States and the Celtic world. Known to its audience as a celebration of spirited, innovative and exuberant music, this special evening will feature the beautiful singing of Karan Casey from Ireland with the voices of the violins all made by the same violinmaker, Bob Childs. They will be celebrating their first return to Seattle since 1992 by bringing their band of 14 fiddlers and 9 all-star instrumentalists, dancers and singers to perform at the Nordstrom recital hall. In addition to virtuosic fiddling, ranging from all-Ireland and Scottish fiddle champions to members of the Boston Symphony, Childsplay features a wide range of outstanding all-star instrumentalists as well as Irish step-dancer Kevin Doyle, a recipient of the National Heritage award, and from Pilobolus, dancer Molly Gawler. From their recent film on PBS to their just released seventh album, The Bloom of Youth, Childsplay’s music has captivated audiences for over 30 years.
The Sunday night concert will take place in the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall – at Benaroya Hall, 200 University St, Seattle, Washington. The doors will open by 6:30 for the 7pm concert.

For members who do not already quailfy for a senior ( 65+), or child (under 12) discount, enter “Fiddle” for a special $3.20 SFS member discount.
