SFS Annual Picnic scheduled for Sunday, August 14th

SFS Annual Picnic Invitation Sunday, August 14th, 2016

Please come to the Seattle Folklore Society’s annual potluck picnic. Bring your instruments, voices, and a big pot of your favorite family recipe. The picnic is a great time to meet our board members and each other, talk about SFS, and join in some singing.

The Picnic is Sunday, August 14th from 5 to 8 PM. Jack Aldrich has once again graciously opened his home to us. Jack’s address is in Seattle’s Maple Leaf neighborhood. (Call 206-782-0505 for address)

All of us on the SFS board are looking forward to seeing you at the Picnic!

Music at the Phinney Farmers Market

2014-9-Onlies-Berkeley-Old-Time-Gathering-1

Friday, July 29th, SFS is proud to sponsor a special concert featuring The Onlies from 5-7 PM at the Phinney Farmers Market. The Onlies play original and traditional fiddle-driven music, with Celtic, old-time American, and Canadian roots. Talented musicians, singers, and composers Leo Shannon, Riley Calcagno, and Sami Braman have just graduated from Garfield High School (Seattle), and have played together since they were two years old. Be sure to see them this summer before they head off for college and other life adventures!
(extra tips for the band encouraged, and CDs may be available for sale)
Come to the Phinney Farmers’ market every Friday from 3:30 to7:30pm in the parking lot of the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave N. Kick off your weekend with fresh local produce, dinner from a variety of food trucks, and music from 5 to 7pm. Check out the performers’ schedule at http://phinneycenter.org/market/
The Phinney Farmers Market continues through September 30th. Support our local farmers and our local musical talent!
