Dec 12 & 13th (and 14th tractor square dance) Hired 2 bands, Bob Dalsemar as caller Tall Boys Greg & Jere Canote & Sandy Bradley Hall is Hugo House S4 - Seattle Subersive Squaredance Society will provide volunteer labor and some $$$ Larry Edelman, Phil Jameson, Bob Dalsemar studied dances and history of dance Have Bob call at Thurs & Fri dances (or one of them) Sat. 10am coffee service by Hugo House Calling/music/ dance workshops throughout the day Saturday night, public dance Business plan? Proposed budget, working on grants, lots of volunteers - PA & sound donated. Break-even for registrants? 30 Tractor turnout? 65 (during snowstorm?) - 212 Dare to be square has had a very wide reach. Cost at door? Public dance - $6-$7 Workshop - $100-$150 8 musicians @ $200 each Bob - $400 + expenses Portland D2bS is helping with organizing, pass the baton. Their website is hosting. Last 2 events in PDX have been ~70-75. Is Hugo house providing any kind of discount? $1760 Asking for $500 grant from SFS Bruce: Need documentation/ reporting SmartVentures grant from city doesn't need 501c3 Ralph: What if you run a surplus? Keep for next year's event Bruce: Need to avoid burnout - get lots of volunteers John: Need to check if we can give a grant if you're not non-profit. Might be able help with insurance. (Ralph expounded on that.) Karen/Bruce/ John/Adam: For insurance, you'd need to be an SFS sponsored activity, which would actually provide a lot of benefits. John explained the serendipity of shared underwriting model.
