SFS Board Meeting Oct. 7, 2008 Present: Karen Shaw, Fred Maslan, Susan Howell, Bruce Baker, Valerie Cohen, Marni Rachmiel, Ralph Kosche Committee Reports Concert Committee - Well into season with 3 concerts. - Gordon Bok did very well. - Using brown paper tickets on several concerts. - Working really well, insures attendance, easier for volunteers. - Updated "how to be a producer" document. - Fall full, spring filling up - Shirley is moving, need to find a replacement - Find/develop documentation for concom treasurer Love music? Dance Committee Hall for Dec. 5 dance Fremont Abbey - LilliAnne Cary lilli@att.net Great hall in Greenlake Haller lake Church on Mercer Island Option: On Fri night, bring the one from the blue building into the community hall. Move to approve up to $1500 on AED for phinney. Motion approved unanimously. - Finance Committee Checking account balances stable at $10,000 Trust fund stable at $120,000 Discussion of renewal policy Marni: Did folk alliance membership get renewed? Ralph: Yes Question about advertising in-kind discounts with other orgs. Motion: When in-kind discounts are requested, editor and president handle it and it gets reported via email to the board list. Motion passes Haller lake and Pacific northwest newsletter and PNA are all reciprocal advertising opportunities. Rainy Camp committee $5000 in bank, so dropping price from $70 to $50. 20th Anniversary Slip and fall caused problems because insurance companies want to collect. Added a hold-harmless clause to signup. Suggested for other events.
